Professor Audrey Ferron Parayre discusses the importance of enhancing research in law with perspectives drawn from other disciplines.
She describes law as a “photo” of a sociological moment in time. Taking an interdisciplinary view of such a moment, to gain perspectives that are different from our own, she explains, is essential to gaining a fuller understanding of the law itself. To develop her own research perspectives, Professor Ferron– Parayre seeks out the voices of all potential stakeholders, allowing her to question and to test her own points of view and ultimately ensuring that her work can achieve the greatest possible impact.
By incorporating a plurality of voices, research in law can become essential to helping society respond to whatever challenges it may face.
