Pillars of Judicial Independence

For a Fairer and More Impartial Justice

Pillars of Judicial Independence

What is judicial independence? It refers to the independence of judges when they are making decisions. Judges cannot be influenced by others. They must make decisions solely based on the facts and the law in front of them.

The concept of judicial independence also requires that the judicial branch be independent from the executive and legislative branches of government.

For judicial independence to thrive, three pillars must be in place.
