The trivialization of debt
Canadian household debt has risen sharply in recent decades. In this visual post, Professor Jean François Bissonnette recounts how the 2012 Quebec student strike led him to take an interest in the phenomenon of debt. He explains the growth of private debt and how it has become commonplace. He examines debt as a power relationship and an economic, social and political phenomenon.
