This innovative project is the result of a collaboration between Jurivision and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uottawa.ca\/faculte-droit\/droit-civil\/revuegeneralededroit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Revue g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de droit<\/a>, with financial support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The production of short visual publications on articles published in the Revue aims to ensure greater knowledge mobilization in law while highlighting the authors who choose to publish their work in the journal.<\/p>\n\n<p>The remote electronic notarial deed has become a major topic of interest for the international notarial community after its introduction by some states during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new instrument has sparked controversies, which Professor Naivi Chikoc Barreda analyzes in light of the principles of notarial law and the rules of private international law<\/p>\n\n<p>How can the identity and capacity of parties be ensured remotely? How can it be guaranteed that clients give free and informed consent? What are the effects of remote notarial acts across borders? These are some of the questions debated in her article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.erudit.org\/fr\/revues\/rgd\/#back-issues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">From COVID-19 to Remote Electronic Notarization: Reflections on the Challenges of Dematerialized Authenticity<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n<p>The remote electronic notarial deed is gaining global popularity, but its reception in comparative law is not uniform. Professor Naivi Chikoc Barreda observes various emerging approaches for this new notarial practice.<\/p>\n\n<p>Since the reform of the Notaries Act in 2023, technological media support has become the standard for receiving and preserving notarial acts, while remote authentication is reserved for exceptional situations.
