In the high-energy hustle of continuous progress in the field of law in Quebec, the Quebec Bar Foundation<\/a> has stood as a reliable pillar since its inception in 1978. On the occasion of the Foundation’s 45th anniversary, many voices were brought together to discuss its origins and its ongoing commitment to promoting the advancement of legal knowledge and supporting the next generation of lawyers<\/p>\n\n

One of the Foundation’s fundamental contributions to legal knowledge comes in the form of its grant program, which has supported a broad range of legal research initiatives since its inception. Since 1982, more than 135 textbooks and 150 legal articles have been published thanks to generous grants from the Foundation. The annual legal writing contest, which rewards distinguished authors for their substantive publications, is a further testament to the Foundation’s continuing commitment to academic excellence. <\/p>\n\n

Numerous publications by researchers from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa have benefited from the Foundation’s support over the years. This has greatly contributed to the enrichment of legal thinking, both within the academic community and among legal practitioners, thus fostering a constant and necessary evolution of the law. <\/p>\n\n

The Quebec Bar Foundation is also committed to promoting accessibility in the legal profession, giving special attention to young people interested in careers in law, and addressing specific challenges that some of them face. Since September 2021, the Fondation du Barreau du Qu\u00e9bec and the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ have joined forces to help young people from the DPJ develop their independence and pursue their legal studies. Whether in paralegal technique, undergraduate, master’s or the Bar school, this collaboration supports these young people in their pursuit of academic and professional aspirations. This initiative promotes more diverse and inclusive representation within the profession. <\/p>\n\n

The Quebec Bar Foundation’s activities are made possible thanks to the invaluable support of donors from the legal community, whose unwavering commitment remains essential to the achievement of its mission. Under the leadership of Me Anne-Marie Poistras, the Foundation is entering a new era, reinforced by the support of the Quebec legal community. Building on the success of its first 45 years, it seeks to continue its mission in the years to come and act as an agent of change in shaping a more just and more promising legal future for all. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
