The practice of teleworking has grown significantly with the COVID-19 pandemic. This practice favours the transnationalization of work relationships, which are increasingly likely to be established by the worker outside the borders of the Canadian province or State where their employer\u2019s principal place of business is located. Places of work are becoming virtual, defying national borders. As a result, performing work in a jurisdiction other than that of the employer’s premises, relocating the teleworker’s home, and the rise of \u201cdigital nomadism\u201d raise complex legal issues that affect access to justice and the protection of teleworkers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor <\/span>Naivi<\/span> Chikoc<\/span> Barreda<\/span> of the <\/span>University<\/span> of Ottawa <\/span>is<\/span> conducting<\/span> a<\/span> research<\/span> project<\/span> on cross-border <\/span>telework<\/span> alongside<\/span> Professor St\u00e9phanie Bernstein of UQAM, made possible by a SSHRC \u201c<\/span>Skills<\/span> and Work in the Digital Economy\u201d <\/span>Knowledge<\/span> Synthesis<\/span> Grant.
