To get answers, they meet with Muriel Paradelle, a professor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law. <\/p>\n\n
Professor Paradelle explains that the legal profession was originally developed and practiced by men. The resulting impact of this singularly masculine origin affects women today, enabling insidious practices like gender discrimination in the choice of areas of specialization. Professor Paradelle explores the long history of barriers that women have faced in the legal profession, providing an overview of the evolution of this male-dominated profession and highlighting the barriers that are still present in 2022, in spite of the significant progress that has been made.
