This innovative project is the result of a collaboration with the Revue générale de droit, with the financial support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The production of short visual publications on articles published in the Journal aims to ensure greater knowledge mobilization in law while highlighting the authors who choose to publish their work in the Journal.

The COVID-19 crisis has led to a rethinking of judicial practices in justice systems in Canada and around the world. Increasingly, an emphasis on efficiency measures is becoming vital to our courts. It’s important, however, that every civil justice system maintains a delicate balance between fundamental procedural safeguards, quality and the efficiency of justice

In an article published in the Revue générale de droit, authors Catherine Piché and Shana Chaffai-Parent contribute to the debate on efficiency in the justice system in pandemic and post-pandemic periods by exploring the contours of an effective and accessible civil justice system. While the health crisis seems to have encouraged a rapid evolution in terms of how judicial services are organized, how seriously should we consider a sustainable and profound transformation of civil justice?

In this video, Professor Piché and Ms. Chaffai-Parent describe their research on these issues. They present examples of measures and best practices established in North America to promote efficiency in the administration of justice, the adjudication of disputes, and the reduction of judicial delays. These practices, discussed in detail in their article, include effective case management measures, private dispute resolution that is integrated with court operations, and technological measures.

Authors Catherine Piché and Shana Chaffai-Parent reflect on the efficiency of our system of justice in pandemic and post-pandemic periods by exploring the contours of an effective and accessible civil justice system.

[27
78,76,19
post-93975","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-knowledge","tag-access-to-justice","tag-courts","tag-technology
["https://jurivision.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/rgd-04-2022-1024x576.jpg",1024,576,true
Video publications about legal issues, highlighting the work of legal scholars or the activities of legal practitioners.
Video publications about legal issues, highlighting the work of legal scholars or the activities of legal practitioners.
["GET
