Members of Game Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force\u2019s esports team, gathered at the University of Ottawa Gaming Hub\u00a0last June to face off against military esports teams from the United States and the United Kingdom in the seventh edition of the Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E.) Bowl<\/a> tournament. On the eve of the competition, as players set up their gaming stations and streaming equipment, the excitement was palpable. Their shared goal was clear: bring home to Canada the trophy they first captured in 2023.<\/p>\n\n

Launched as part of the Royal Canadian Air Force\u2019s centennial celebrations, Game Force is a unique program designed to engage young members of the Canadian Armed Forces who are interested in esports and gaming. More recently, leaders of the Canadian Armed Forces esports program have also explored the positive impact that moderate gaming can have on the mental health and well-being of ill and injured service members and veterans. <\/p>\n\n

In this video, members of Game Force open up about what video games mean to them and reflect on what it is like to see their personal passions intersect with their professional service in the Canadian Armed Forces. <\/p>\n\n
