In a welcoming home in the Outaouais region, Coralie Dufresne and her husband have been foster parents to seven children for nearly four years. Their daily life, far from clich\u00e9s, is filled with love, resilience, and a deep commitment to children who often arrive carrying heavy emotional burdens. <\/p>\n\n

Each foster home is supported by a dedicated caseworker and has access to training. Still, the challenges are real: staffing shortages, long wait times, and high turnover among professionals. These hurdles can strain an already delicate balance. <\/p>\n\n

One of the most persistent misconceptions? The fear of becoming attached to a child who might eventually return home. But, Coralie emphasizes that a child\u2019s return to their biological family is not a failure, but a collective success. It means the child\u2019s biological parents have met the conditions set by the courts and social services. <\/p>\n\n

“Open your heart, share your home.” More than a governmental slogan, it’s an invitation to look with admiration at those who choose, every day, to accompany children towards a more stable future. <\/p>\n\n
