In collaboration with CIRCEM and AISLF, Jurivision presents a series of interviews conducted as part of the XXII\u1d49 Congr\u00e8s international des sociologues de langue fran\u00e7aise<\/a><\/em>. Entitled \u201cSciences, Savoirs et Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s\u201d, the Congress brought together over a thousand francophone and francophile scientists at the University of Ottawa in July 2024.<\/p>\n\n

In this visual post, Professor Nadine Machikou looks at the repoliticization and future of French in Africa. She criticizes certain barriers to the international circulation of knowledge, including limits on the mobility of African researchers. She stresses the importance for scientific communities to support the vitality and dynamism of the French language.<\/p>\n\n

Nadine Machikou also discussed French in Africa and its politicization in the plenary session La recherche francophone en milieux minoritaires<\/a><\/em> at the AISLF Congress, available as a replay.<\/p>\n\n
